Change: Are You Prepared?
When President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 on February 17th, significant changes were made that directly affect businesses. While approximately two-thirds of the nearly $800 billion stimulus act is focused on government spending initiatives intended to create jobs and jumpstart the economy, about one-third provides tax breaks for businesses and individuals. In addition, there were substantial changes in Human Resources policies and Employment laws.
O'Sullivan Creel, LLP and Landrum Human Resources recently hosted a Stimulus Seminar, Change: Are You Prepared? The seminar educated business owners on the significant human resource and tax provisions made during the most recent economic stimulus package. We also revealed tips and tools to help businesses survive during these tough economic times.
